At the end of the year, Sixth Class presented two comedic adaptations of well-known fairy tales. A great number of parents turned up to see the budding actors perform for them in the school hall.
During weeks of rehearsals, both classes, under the guidance of their class teachers, Ms Bríd Kavanagh and Mr Paul O’Connor, gained in confidence and the productions on the night were a great success.
Many thanks are due to all those who helped with the preparation for the shows, especially our Special Needs Assistants, Ms Fran Buckley and Ms Annette Dolan. Thanks also to our caretaker, Maurice Swinburne for putting up the curtains.
Well done to all the actors. It was great to see everyone take part with such enthusiasm and dedication. There were a LOT of lines to learn.
Well done also, to the mams and dads who helped with costumes which were excellent and really enhanced the performances.
Principal, Mr Dónal Ó hÓbáin, expressed his admiration for the hard work of all those concerned with this productiuon and this was echoed by the parents and friends present in the generous applause awarded to the actors after each scene and especially at the end!
Once again, the spirit of co-operation which exists in Saint Mary’s was evident in the supporting roles quietly played by many in the background.. The results were a pleasure to behold.
