Sixth Class of 2017 Graduation Assembly
Sixth Class Take Their Leave of Us
Following the ceremony for Mr Walsh, we moved on to the sad business of saying another goodbye-this time to the two sixth classes. Mr Ó hÓbáin spoke glowingly of the pupils in both classes and we all agreed that these children really are a great example of the values we try to instill in our pupils.
Above, we see the students who didn’t miss a day of school this year.
Included is Perin W, who hasn’t missed a day of school since Junior Infants!
Both classes were expertly guided to this day by their teachers, Ms Mairéad O’Shaughnessy and Mr Ciarán Giblin over the last two years and we thank them for their care and professionalism.
A special feature of the final assembly for Sixth Class is always the “Jack Barrett Award”.
Mrs Barrett was on hand to present these awards, which honour two students, one from each class, who have demonstrated the character traits we value in our school.
Well done to Isabelle O’Brien and Leo Hendrick!
Congrats to both Leo and Isabelle.
Here they are with Mrs Barrett and Mr Ó hÓbáin.
Very worthy winners, both.
Following the presentation, it was time for the Sixth Classes to take their leave of us in the traditional manner. As usual, they made a lap of honour of the hall as they do every year. However, this year they were led by Mr Walsh…
We all clapped and cheered as the pupils marched before us and then made their exit into their block, to regroup in their classrooms before finally leaving us for the next phase in their young lives.
We wish each and every one of you, boys and girls, the very best in life and we will follow your progress with interest!
