Assembly March 20th

Non-Uniform Day

At School Assembly recently, two pupils gave a talk on Down Syndrome to mark Down Syndrome Awareness Day on March 21st. We were all touched by the loving way in which Perin and Noah spoke about their little brother Elliot. Elliot has Down Syndrome. We were very impressed by the way this eloquent pair reminded the assembly of the wonderful lessons which we can all learn from people with Downs. Well done both of you. We hope to see Elliot enjoying school life in Saint Mary’s in a few years.

In conjunction with this talk we held a Non-Uniform Day and each child donated to Down Syndrome Ireland. Well done everyone. Find out more at…

Also at Assembly, the winners of the “Seanfhocail” art competition and those who won awards for the “Gaelgóir na Seachtaine” were presented with Easter Eggs and medals/trophies respectively. Maith sibh a pháistí!

First and Third Class went to the  Music In The Classroom concert in the National Concert Hall recently… They had a great time and really enjoyed the experience.

They also found time to visit the Iveagh Gardens while they were in town…

The teachers, Ms McNulty, Mr Cawley, Ms Biggs and Ms McDaid were delighted with the excellent way in which our pupils interacted with everyone they met on the trip. Super job!
