Safety Policy For School Bus Trips

Re: Coaches for school tours, football trips etc.

Policy:

The Board of Management request certificates of compliance with the RSA safety and road worthiness standards from all Bus and Coach Companies which we use throughout the year.  These companies are also well known to the school and have a long track record of reliable and reputable service.

The coaches we engage for school trips meet the standard levels of safety as defined by the RSA.  The Board of Management is satisfied that the coaches are safe.

Coaches differ in terms of equipment and standards of comfort.  This may be due to age or to variance in make/model.  All we can ensure is that the coaches have been certified as safe and up to required standards.

It is, of course, the decision of each Parent/Guardian if they are prepared to allow their own child attend any particular trip/tour/event.

The school requests that this decision be made in advance of the date of the trip in order to allow the teachers plan for the day and to avoid any extra stress at the moment of departure.
