What Can You Recycle In St. Mary’s?

What can you Recycle in St. Mary’s?
We’re still collecting old mobile phones! In fact, two of our interactive whiteboards were bought in exchange for the hundreds of phones donated by parents! Thanks so much for this! All the phones go to The Jack and Jill Foundation, a great childrens’ charity. It’s of great financial benefit to them in the work that they do and also helps St. Mary’s. So everyone wins! So if you have any old phones lying around the house, we’d love to have them! Thank you!

Every week, we get lots of batteries from our pupils. These are either recycled in Navan Recycle Centre, or given to organisations such as ERP Recycling. Batteries can be placed in a box under the Green Notice board in the Assembly Hall.

All types of clothes, shoes, curtains, sheets, blankets and towels can be placed in our big blue clothes bin beside the bicycle shed. These go to a company called Cookstown Recyclers in Co. Tyrone. Northern Ireland Cancer Fund benefits from every bag of clothes donated. Our blue bin has certainly been a great success and has earned the school lots of money, which is spent on improving our gardens and school grounds. Thanks to everyone who has donated so far! We’re sorry if you’ve arrived with your bag and found the bin full and jammed! Sometimes, it’s difficult to predict when it’s almost full and it can take a few days for the bin to be emptied!
